Wellness Spa ‘Go Banya’ Hoxton to host ‘Elemental Banya Ceremony’, led by ritualist and embodiment guide Agate Silova

2 years post the introduction of our online mindfulness events, we’re excited to explore the various paths ventured towards looking after our wellbeing. So far, we’ve ourselves hosted mindfulness workshops, soundbaths, a Pilates session and DJ set – with the aim of exploring other modalities/avenues. A venue I’ve genuinely wanted to visit for the past few years now, Go Banya have very kindly invited Theatre Full Stop to explore their approach to wellbeing and we therefore look forward to visiting the venue in the near future.

Established in 2012, Go Banya draws from a millenia-old Russian tradition. A staple of the culture, Banya, translating as ‘sauna’ consists of a ‘Parilka’ – a steam room furnished with a wood-fired stove that heats stones consistently doused with hot water to maintain an optimum heat. The ‘Venik Ritual’, a signature component incorporating a bundle of tree leaves used to encourage better blood circulation and smoother skin and lastly a ‘cold plunge’, consisting of one submerging themselves into an ice cool pool of water to support the immune system and support with muscle recovery. Included also in this unique experience is the chance to sample the Banya’s tasting menu as well participate in specially curated events.

Go Banya over the past 13 years has since expanded, with branches opened in Chiswick, West London (2021), and internationally – Tbilisi, Georgia (2022) and Paris, France (2025). Growing ever popular, the wellness spa has attracted many household names, Justin Bieber, Kate Moss, Emilia Clarke, Laurence Fishburne, Liv Tyler, Renee Zellwegger, Hayley Atwell amongst others singing high praises.

Drawing on the element of specially curated events, Go Banya present the ‘Elemental Banya Ceremony’ is hosted by ritualist and embodiment guide Agate Silova, also known as the ‘Latvian Witch’. Agate embraces the Latvian Pirt (pronounced peer tee) tradition of steam, heat, water, herbs and song to aid in aligning the body, mind and soul.
