So It Goes is the first production from On The Run theatre company. It is about actor/creator Hannah Moss’ father and his death. The piece is a two hander created and performed by Hannah Moss and David Ralfe.

The play starts with an introduction to Hannah and her Dad, we quickly learn there will be no spoken text in this play. All the dialogue is written on white boards. This device works very well, it adds to the comic book style of the show and allows the audience to interpret their words in a very personal way. The show covers the life, the time leading upto and the time after the death, of Hannah’s father. It is sprinkled with charming comedic moments, actor David Ralfe’s “male student” is very entertaining as are the montage moments from Hannah’s younger life.
The play is not scared to take its time. It is full of deeply upsetting and powerful moments which are never rushed. The silence the white board technique provide make these moments even more gut wrenching and are also what makes this show a very brave piece of work.
