Win a FREE hotel room for The Edinburgh Fringe – hotel chain opens giveaway competition for comedy and theatre performers
Point A Hotels has announced that it will be giving away a free two-week stay at the city-centre hotel during this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The independent hoteliers have issued a unique opportunity for comedians and actors performing at the Fringe Festival to apply for the free room giveaway. Following their brand motto of ‘small hotels, big heart’, Point A wants to make sure up-and-coming talent is not priced out of the popular festival. As such, they are offering a room to a comedian or theatre performer from the 4th to 18th of August at Point A Edinburgh, in the centre of the city’s Haymarket district.
The dates have been selected to enable the performer to hold preview shows as well as cash-in on two busy weeks at the festival. In addition to the free room, Point A wants to champion the winner and follow their journey through The Fringe. The chosen performer will supply 8 – 10 pieces of content for a virtual Fringe ‘take over’ on Point A’s social channels, demonstrating just what it’s like to be behind the scenes at the festival.
Point A will also stage 3 pop-up shows in the Edinburgh hotel, one for the first three weeks of the Fringe. Week 1 & 2 will be shows featuring Point A’s selected winner. Lucky attendees will be a mixture of hotel guests and guests selected by the performer. Week 3 will be a show featuring Comedian Vix Leyton, alongside a roster of comedians especially selected by her.
Only comedians and actors performing at this year’s Fringe Festival will be eligible to enter. Applicants can apply via Instagram by posting a clip on their page/story and tagging @pointahotels or using the #PointaFringe or emailing email@example.com by Friday 8th July with:
1. A 30-second clip featuring a joke or impromptu performance telling why they should be Point A’s Fringe Ambassador.
2. Links to their previous shows/website/social channels showing their journey and potential
The competition will be live only for a three-week period from Friday 24th June – 8th July before a winner is selected.

The winner will be selected by internal vote, followed by a thorough vetting process. Moreover, by entering the competition all entrants will agree to have their entry shared across all of Point A’s social channels.
