The Place announces call out for Resolution 2023 artists

The Place has announced a call out for artists to take part in Resolution, its annual festival for choreography and performance work that’s taking place Thu 18 May – Fri 16 Jun 2023.

The Place is looking for applications from UK based artists proposing ideas for 15 – 25 minute live performances spanning dance, dance theatre, physical theatre, hip hop, South Asian dance, circus and live art all welcome.Applications close Wed 30 Nov 2022.

Resolution is the UK’s biggest festival for new work that exists to support and celebrate work by emerging artists. Every year, for over thirty years, The Place welcomes over 70 UKbased artists to create original work for London’s best platform for contemporary dance performances.

Over the years, Resolution has kickstarted the careers of world leading choreographers such as Luca Silvestrini (Protein), Wayne McGregor, Frauke Requardt, Kate Prince (Zoonation) and Drew McOnie. Resolution marks an opportunity for artists from all over the world to perform new work for audiences eager to see the latest experiments in choreography.

The Place’s programming team says:Each year Resolution marks a special moment where the next generation of performance makers are brought to our stage. We can’t wait to see and hear from all the incredible UK based emerging artists who apply.”

As well as being an opportunity for artists to present their work at The Place theatre to an audience of up to 288 people, including industry critics, artists can learn from industry professionals through supportive and practical workshops.
