New architecture tour explores Royal Opera House’s iconic Covent Garden home

The Royal Opera House is offering a new tour celebrating the architecture that makes its theatre iconic. Highlighting how the Royal Opera House successfully blends Victorian and contemporary design, this tour offers an exciting insight into this unique performance space.

Perfect for theatre and architecture lovers, this hour-long tour begins from Wednesday 6 September 2023. Experienced guides will take visitors to some of the theatre’s most exciting features, including the Amphitheatre, Linbury Theatre, Paul Hamlyn Hall and the stunning Bridge of Aspiration. The inspiration, ambition and design of each space will be explained by Royal Opera House guides, giving visitors a better understanding of why the venue is world-famous

Not only will this tour explore the significance of the theatre, it will also focus on the importance of architecture in production and lighting. Visitors will learn about how sets are designed, modelled and created, and the art of lighting design for performances.

Tickets cost £19 and include a 10% discount at the theatre’s café and shop on the day of the tour.
