Today, 5x Grammy nominated leading Afrobeats voice Davido announced a historic three-night residency taking place at The National Theatre in Lagos, Nigeria from December 17-19. The announcement arrives alongside an official residency trailer and the release of the music video for his standout record, On The Road.

Davido’s three-night residency marks the first time the African star will bring his new album, Oriadé, to life onstage in Lagos, and is one of the first residencies hosted by an Afrobeats artist in Nigeria. The homecoming event represents a full-circle moment for Davido as he celebrates 15 years in music and returns to the city that has been at the heart of his journey from emerging artist to one of Africa’s most influential global stars.

Taking place at one of Lagos’ most iconic cultural institutions, Davido will deliver live performances of ORIADÉ alongside career-defining hits, with special guest appearances throughout each evening, making the residency a landmark celebration of music, culture and Nigerian excellence.

Released alongside the residency trailer is the official music video for Davido’s standout track “On The Road,” offering an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at Davido’s life in constant motion through a collection of real-life moments over the past year. The video features snapshots of Davido’s travels around the world, including stops on his 5IVE ALIVE World Tour in Nigeria,

Toronto and New York; the opening ceremony for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco; his historic Coachella debut; and his appearances at Paris Fashion Week, capturing the fast pace of a career that has taken Davido around the world.

In the context of the Lagos residency, the song’s message takes on a deeper meaning as Davido prepares to return home for three unforgettable nights. After 15 years spending his life “on the road,” Davido is bringing the journey full circle, back to the city where it all began. Honoring his roots in Nigeria, Davido’s residency will celebrate the people, culture, and community that have been part of his journey from the very beginning.
