The Made in Sussex Film Festival, a celebration of local cinematic talent, has unveiled an exciting opportunity for filmmakers: a £10,000 prize for Best Director, dedicated to funding their next Sussex-based project.
Hosted at Lewes’s iconic Depot Cinema from 25th to 27th April 2025, the festival shines a spotlight on films rooted in Sussex’s landscapes, heritage, and creativity. The event is designed to honour the region’s storytelling and artistry.
The £10,000 prize, generously sponsored by Clear Futures, offers a transformative opportunity for the winner. Jen Handorf of Film Sussex highlighted the impact of the “Securing funding is often the greatest challenge for filmmakers, particularly for smaller, independent projects. Thanks to the incredible support of Clear Futures, this groundbreaking grant provides one talented filmmaker with the resources needed to execute their creative vision.
