Award-winning actor Idris Elba, broadcaster and entrepreneur Maya Jama and Brit Award and Mercury Prize-winning musician and actor Little Simz are announced today as producers for the West End Transfer of Bush Theatre’s smash hit production of Shifters.

These powerhouse names from across the worlds of stage, television, film and music join forces with Eleanor Lloyd Productions, Chuchu Nwagu Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions to bring Benedict Lombe’s intoxicating new romance to London’s West End following its sold out run at  the Bush Theatre earlier this year. Directed by Lynette Linton, the play runs for a strictly limited 9 week season with previews from 12 August, the official opening night on 21 August and running until 12 October.

With a musical catalogue that includes 18 previously released full length albums from his work with Creed, Alter Bridge and various solo endeavors, world-renowned guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Mark Tremonti is back with his sixth album from his solo band, Tremonti. Mark Tremonti is back with a collection of 12 original compositions that continues his musical evolution while showcasing his ability to write memorable songs – something he has done for nearly three decades. Mark is backed in Tremonti by Eric Friedman (guitars), Tanner Keegan (bass) and Ryan Bennett (drums). Each song on The End Will Show Us How will take the listener on a journey as Mark set out to create an album of a dozen individual compositions each unique from the other. The debut single Just Too Much is a perfect example of this. The song opens with a driving guitar riff – the basis for the entire song – as Mark delivers the message to keep pushing forward no matter what adversity is in front of you. The efforts needed to fight wildfires are mighty, with firefighters and volunteers, including incarcerated volunteers tasked with extinguishing what could possibly take weeks to finally quash. Inspired by his own grandparent’s story of being imprisoned in the Japanese American incarceration camps during the 1940s, writer, director and producer Robin Takao D’Oench returns to HollyShorts Film Festival with his 4th short film Fireline – a film that concerns itself with the lives of incarcerated wildland firefighters as lead Otto grapples with the challenges of prison life and his desire to connect with his daughter against the backdrop of a forest fire. The film highlighting the pivotal role played by prison labour in California’s firefighting efforts and the limited opportunities for those individuals to pursue careers in firefighting upon reentering society. Ahead of HollyShorts 20th anniversary, set to take place from 8th to 18th August at TCL Chinese 6 Theatres, Robin tells us more about this rarely talked about subject matter.

Today, it was announced that two-time Tony Award^® nominee and multiple Olivier Award^® winner Jamie Lloyd will direct a new production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting For Godot starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. Waiting for Godot will open on Broadway in the Fall of 2025 at an ATG theater to be announced with Reeves playing ‘Estragon’ and Winter playing ‘Vladimir.’

Reeves is one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars having appeared in over 100 feature films including cinematic hits like the John Wick series, The Matrix films, and Constantine; dramas such as My Own Private Idaho, Dangerous Liaisons, and The Gift; and comedies like Parenthood, Something’s Gotta Give, and Always Be My Maybe. Waiting For Godot will mark Reeves’ Broadway debut.

The Jamie Lloyd Company today announces a season of Shakespeare at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane with The Tempest starring BAFTA winner Sigourney Weaver, who is being awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 81^st Venice International Film Festival, making her West End debut as Prospero; and Much Ado About Nothing starring Tom Hiddleston (Benedick) and Hayley Atwell (Beatrice), both directed by Jamie Lloyd.

The two productions run at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, owned and operated by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s LW Theatres, marking the first Shakespeare plays to be presented at the venue since Peter Brook’s production of The Tempest starring John Gielgud in 1957. The Tempest opens on Thursday 19 December, with previews from 7 December 2024, running until 1 February 2025, and Much Ado About Nothing opens Wednesday 19 February, with previews from 10 February, running until 5 April 2025. Last month, 5x Grammy winner and one of the most notable hip hop, R&B, and fashion/style icons of all time, Ms. Lauryn Hill announced she would be once again reuniting with The Fugees, to co-headline an extension of The Miseducation Anniversary Tour in honor of her landmark album. Due to the great fan response, Ms. Hill and The Fugees are announcing they are adding additional European dates to the run – now also stopping in Dublin, Cardiff (as part of Cardiff Music City Festival), Cologne, a second night inParis, Antwerp, and Hamburg.
