Arcade Fire announce special show at Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 14th May 2025

Arcade Fire, one of the most influential bands of the past two decades, have today announced a special headline show atLondon’s Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday, 14 May 2025.

The only UK date in a run of intimate Don’t Think About Pink Elephant gigs in select cities around the world to mark the release of new album Pink Elephant on 9 May, this one-off Royal Albert Hall show will see the band perform the new record in its entirety.

Today’s news follows the recent announcement that the band is back with brand new music, nearly three years after the release of their acclaimed album WE (2022). Composed of 10 new tracks, Pink Elephant is Arcade Fire’s seventh studio album, with the first single ‘Year of the Snake’ a joyous instant classic buoyed by the enveloping warmth of Régine Chassagne’s vocals, delivering the unique trademark sound of Arcade Fire. The song’s title refers to 2025 being the Lunar Year of the Snake, which represents a time for renewal, positive transformation, and new beginnings.

Ticket presales for Arcade Fire’s show at the Royal Albert Hall begin Wednesday, 23 April, with general sales starting Friday, 25 April at 10 AM local time. Tickets will be available at livenation.co.uk.

The UK Pantomime Association announces the winners of The Pantomime Awards 2025 with Outstanding Achievement awarded to actress Elaine C Smith

On Sunday 13 April, the winners of The Pantomime Awards 2025, staged in partnership with Trafalgar Entertainment and ATG Entertainment, were announced by the UK Pantomime Association at a ceremony full of song and laughter at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking.

Elaine C Smith picked up the illustrious award for Outstanding Achievement in Pantomime for her exceptional contribution to the Pantomime Industry for many decades as one of Scotland’s best-loved pantomime legends. Elaine was also one of the Awards show’s trio of presenters, sharing the stage for the evening with fellow top performers, Dave Benson Phillips and La Voix.

Catfish and the Bottlemen have announced additional dates for their highly anticipated summer 2025 tour across the UK and Ireland. The newly added performances include major outdoor venues, promising unforgettable nights for fans.

Newly Announced Dates:

Dan Burton and Darren Day star as ‘Billy Flynn’ and Sinitta as ‘Mama Morton’ in the UK and Ireland Tour of the multi award winning ‘Chicago’

David Ian for Crossroads Live in association with Barry and Fran Weissler are delighted to announce that West End leading man Dan Burton and West End and TV star Darren Day will return to share the role of Billy Flynn, alongside international recording artist and pop star Sinitta as Mama Morton, in the UK and Ireland tour of Chicago.

Dan Burton will play Billy Flynn in Bournemouth, Nottingham, Birmingham, Truro and Llandudno. Darren Day will play Billy Flynn in Wimbledon, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Hull, Eastbourne, Norwich, Blackpool, Woking, Sunderland, Crawley, Glasgow and Salford.

Kevin Clifton continues to perform as Billy Flynn in Canterbury and Bristol.

Diego Andres Rodriguez joins Rachel Zegler in Jamie Lloyd’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Evita’ at the London Palladium Summer 2025

Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals and Jamie Lloyd for The Jamie Lloyd Company today announce Diego Andres Rodriguez as Che in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita. He joins the previously announced Rachel Zegler (Eva Perón), with full cast and creatives to be announced. The production, directed by Jamie Lloyd, opens at The London Palladium on Tuesday 1 July, with previews from 14 June, and runs until 6 September 2025.

Jamie Lloyd said today, “Before he even graduated, Diego made his professional debut as Artie in our production of Sunset Blvd. on Broadway, in which he also understudied and played the leading role, Joe Gillis. He is an incredible young actor and a fantastic vocalist. We’re so thrilled he will be making his West End debut in Tim and Andrew’s iconic musical.”

The collection was captured on a variety of physical media formats and digitized during the pandemic. It contains unique interviews with influential actors and pioneering performers, including David Carradine, Cyd Charisse, Henry Fonda, Kathleen Freeman, Tippi Hedren, Dennis Hopper, Jane Russell, and dozens more. @sadlers_wells and @breakinconvention present the Hip Hop Games on Stratford Waterfront in @queenelizabetholympicpark this summer ahead of Breaking’s inaugural appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games (@olympics) and the opening of Sadler’s Wells East. On Saturday 3 August from 12-7pm, eight east London dancers will compete across two teams in a hip hop dance improvisation game with a series of different creative challenges in a free event for all the family.

The Hip Hop Games is a concept born in France in 2011 from dancer, choreographer and artistic director Romuald Brizolier and is the first concept that offers a hip hop dance improvisation game staged through various creative challenges. The Hip Hop Games has since toured internationally, bringing together dancers from across the world and gaining widespread recognition.  

To continue marking Breaking’s debut in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Sadler’s Wells and Breakin’ Convention are inviting visitors to watch the Breaking Olympic finals at free live watching parties on Friday 9 & Saturday 10 August. This will then be followed by a 45 minute Pilates workshop at 3:15, also on Instagram Live led by @sib_meienberg. The session is suitable for beginners, and we ask if possible, to make sure you have a yoga/exercise mat with you, and a bottle of water.
