Musicians across the UK join forces to encourage MPs to attend their events to keep the music alive

The Council of Music Makers, representing UK musicians, songwriters, music producers, featured artists and their managers, has responded to the recent debate about MPs accepting free tickets, saying “we need you at our events!”

Unlike other sectors where MPs and other decision makers are invited into workplaces without a ticket, many music maker events are ticketed. The Council of Music Makers has made it clear this isn’t about freebies for MPs and their families to see bands and artists they already love, this is about ensuring they have access to and understand the wide range of music the UK has to offer.

Pinkpantheress announces residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton

Today, PinkPantheress announces her upcoming sophomore mixtape Fancy That out May 9th via Warner Records UK. In celebration, PinkPantheress has also announced a residency at  London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

Written and produced by PinkPantheress, Fancy That was created alongside aksel arvid, Count Baldor, phil, Oscar Scheller, The Dare and others, bringing together a collective of creative minds to shape her latest sonic evolution. As she steps into her fun and kitsch-y era, rooted in British culture, the 9-track project showcases her signature vocals and genre-blurring sound. This mixtape marks a new chapter for PinkPantheress as she embraces a new level of intimacy. Fancy That is testament to PinkPantheress’ ear, featuring samples and interpolations from Panic! at the Disco toJessica Simpson to Basement Jaxx as she seamlessly blends classics and hidden gems with her signature earworm production. The sophomore mixtape will feature previously teased ‘Illegal’ alongside recently released single ‘Tonight’, which offers a glimpse into the unapologetic soundscape she has crafted. Full tracklist below.

The Amazons announce UK Headline Tour at London’s Roundhouse on October 29th

Following their powerhouse collaboration with Royal Blood on My Blood and the recent release of Love is a Dog From Hell,  The Amazons are back with their explosive new single Night After Night. Loaded with thundering riffs and raw energy, the track is the latest taste of their forthcoming album 21st Century Fiction, out May 9th. The band have also announced they will be hitting the road in Autumn 2025 for a run of UK headline dates.

An anthem of frustration and self-reflection, The Amazons drew inspiration from their time spent at Jumbo’s Clown Room in Hollywood, an old haunt of David Lynch and Charles Bukowski, which they shaped into a metaphor for the habits and routine that trap us all. Lead singer Matt Thomson explains, “what interested us were the guys who’d go there all the time, who became part of the furniture, at the bar night after night compelled to be there, unable to break out. It’s easy to judge, but we all have our habits, some more visible than others. It’s only when we try to hop the fence, that we realise how much of a hold they have over us.” Listen to ‘Night After Night’ HERE.

Known for their electric stage presence and full throttle intensity,  The Amazons are bringing their raucous live show to the UK this Autumn, with a 10-date-tour, including a show at London’s Roundhouse on October 29th. Pre-sale tickets are available at 10:00 am on Wednesday April 9th from HERE. Tickets go on general sale at 10:00 am on Friday April 11thfrom LiveNation.co.uk

Mastercard cardholders have special access to presale tickets. Mastercard Presale starts Friday 11th April at 10AM Local. Check out priceless.com/music for details.

The Amazons UK Tour Dates:
October
Tue 21st                            Bristol, SWX
Wed 22nd                         Southampton, Engine Rooms
Fri 24th                              Newcastle, NX
Sat 25th                             Manchester, The Albert Hall
Sun 26th                            Nottingham, Rock City
Tue 28th                            Stoke, Sugarmill
Wed 29th                          London, Roundhouse
Fri 31st                              Birmingham, O2 Institute

November
Sat 1st                 Leeds, Beckett University
Sun 2nd                             Glasgow, SWG3 TV Studio

The band’s fourth studio album, 21st Century Fiction is the sound of “a man in his late 20s, struggling with unrealistic ideals of masculinity and a sense of unfulfilled promise”, surrounded by “a world plagued by chaos.”

These were songs that Thomson needed to write, not just to lift himself from the doldrums, but for a generation of young males with the same struggles. 21st Century Fiction signals the emergence of The Amazons’ bold new sound – still loaded with riffs and roaring with aggression, but packed with a whole new level of introspection, energy and grandiose. With three huge Top 10 records and sold out shows across the globe under their belts, The Amazons are facing their futures: fired up and ready to go.

Applications are now open for the fourth year of the International Touring and Environmental Responsibility (ITER) programme, a programme initiated and funded by Arts Council England, the Danish Arts Foundation, and Arts Council Norway and designed and delivered by Julie’s Bicycle in collaboration with in futurum.

Travel and touring are essential to the arts, but they come at a cost. As the urgency of the climate crisis increases, so does the need for our sector to understand the impacts of touring and to develop sustainable models for sharing art while supporting a low-carbon, just future. ITER is a programme for both organisations and individuals that fosters relationships between artists and companies based in England, Denmark, and Norway, supporting them to develop new, environmentally responsible, inclusive and equitable approaches to international touring and collaboration.
