Awarding £3,000 for the best original script by a writer new to radio, this year’s Imison Award shortlistees are Tether by Isley Lynn, The Mini-Break by Chloë Myerson, Tribe of Two By Malaika Kegode and Under Milk Woods Tywyn by Manon Steffan Ros The award was judged by members of the Society of Authors’ Scriptwriters Group: Ian Billings, Imogen Church, James Clarke and Sean Grundy, Robin Mukherjee and Rhiannon Tise.

Edson Burton, Satinder Chohan, Robert Forrest and Dan Rebellato are the shortlisted writers for this year’s Tinniswood Award, which is organised by the Society of Authors and Writers Guild of Great Britain to recognise the best audio drama script of the year. The Tinniswood Award judges this year were Nicola Baldwin and Lucy Gough(co-chairs of the WGGB Audio Committee), 2021 Tinniswood Award winner Christopher Douglas and Writers’ Guild Best Radio Drama 2018 winner Ming Ho.

Following the announcement of the all-star extravaganza Back to the Beginning celebrating the true creators of heavy metal earlier this month, Black Sabbath have announced a host of further artists to the extraordinary lineup. The sold-out show will see the original Black Sabbath – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – return to play for the first time in 20 years on July 5^th at Villa Park.

Back to the Beginning, which will be hosted and compered by American actor Jason Momoa, will see Ozzy Osbourne play his own short set before joining with Black Sabbath for his final bow. The new acts added to the bill include Tool, Guns ‘N’ Roses and Rival Sons, who will join Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb Of God, Anthrax and Mastodon.

Citing the legendary jazz saxophonist and band leader John Coltrane as an inspiration, experimental saxophonist Sean Khan has too inspired others and helped to shape the musical landscape with various albums, showcasing Sean’s versatility as a musician, experimenting with Broken-Beats, Jazz and Brazilian rhythms. His recent endeavour – an album with The Modern Jazz and Folk Ensemble released in 2024 of the same name delving into the rich tradition of folk music. Due to perform with the ensemble on Thursday 6th March at Rich Mix as part of celebrated organisation Certain Blacks’ Afro Futures Festival, which takes place from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th March, Sean tells us more about what to expect from his curated set.

At a ceremony tonight at The London Palladium hosted by Gina and Mazz Murray, the winners of the 25^th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards in association with AudienceView were announced – the only major theatre awards decided entirely by the theatregoers themselves.

Beverley Knight and Billy Porter will host the biggest night in theatre, this year’s Olivier Awards with Mastercard. Showcasing the best of London’s world-leading theatre industry the star-studded ceremony will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 6 April.

Cultural icon Beyoncé will return to stages across the U.S. and Europe from April through July for the Cowboy Carter Tour, celebrating the release of her groundbreaking eighth studio album Cowboy Carter. Produced and directed by Parkwood Entertainment, and promoted by Live Nation, the tour includes notable four-night runs at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium along with two-night stints in Chicago, Paris, Houston, Washington, and Atlanta. The 22-date tour will begin in the U.S. from April through May, then cross the Atlantic to London and Paris. Cowboy Carter has made a monumental impact on music, reinterpreting elements of country, rock and roll, folk, rhythm and blues, pop, psychedelic soul, and bluegrass genres into the second album of her three part trilogy. Weaving in radio broadcasts by the fictional “KNTRY Radio Texas,” country legends Dolly Parton, Linda Martell, and Willie Nelson were featured as disc jockeys and collaborators across several tracks.
