At a ceremony tonight at The London Palladium hosted by Gina and Mazz Murray, the winners of the 25^th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards in association with AudienceView were announced – the only major theatre awards decided entirely by the theatregoers themselves.

WhatsOnStage’s Darius Thompson and Alex Wood said today: “’This list of winners, coming after a quarter of a century of public nominating, voting and prize-giving, once more celebrates the sheer diversity and variety of theatre productions on our stages. With lightning-fast performers on rollerblades, cutting-edge new stagings of Shakespearean classics, or fresh, musical takes on Greek myths all triumphing, it proves that UK theatre really can do it all. A huge thank you to everyone who selected and championed their favourite shows and creatives, and to the team at The London Palladium for once more hosting this enormous spectacle – it’s been a pleasure. Beverley Knight and Billy Porter will host the biggest night in theatre, this year’s Olivier Awards with Mastercard. Showcasing the best of London’s world-leading theatre industry the star-studded ceremony will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 6 April.

Herself a three-time Olivier Award nominee, Beverley Knight won in 2023 for her role in Sylvia and is soon to make her professional play debut in Marie and Rosetta at the Rose Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre.

International star of stage and screen, Billy Porter is a Primetime Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winner, currently starring in the multi-Olivier Award-winning Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in the West End.

This morning, at the home of Aston Villa, Sharon Osbourne and Tony Iommi announced that the original Black Sabbath – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – will play for the first time in 20 years. The band will take to the stage to headline Back to the Beginning on July 5^th at Villa Park.

The all-star event will celebrate the true creators of heavy metal and will see Ozzy Osbourne play his own short set before joining with Black Sabbath for his final bow.

Cultural icon Beyoncé will return to stages across the U.S. and Europe from April through July for the Cowboy Carter Tour, celebrating the release of her groundbreaking eighth studio album Cowboy Carter. Produced and directed by Parkwood Entertainment, and promoted by Live Nation, the tour includes notable four-night runs at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium along with two-night stints in Chicago, Paris, Houston, Washington, and Atlanta. The 22-date tour will begin in the U.S. from April through May, then cross the Atlantic to London and Paris. Cowboy Carter has made a monumental impact on music, reinterpreting elements of country, rock and roll, folk, rhythm and blues, pop, psychedelic soul, and bluegrass genres into the second album of her three part trilogy. Legendary hitmaking, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band The Doobie Brothers announced today they will play 5 shows in the UK & Ireland this summer, in support of their upcoming new studio album Walk This Road. The newly announced shows include headline plays in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Dublin. In addition to the band’s headlining arena shows, The Doobie Brothers will perform as a special guest on Jeff Lynne’s sold-out, final ever BST Hyde Park ELO show on July 13. J-pop superstars Yoasobi announce a London show at OVO Arena Wembley on Sunday, June 8. This performance marks their very first headlining concert in the UK and follows Yoasobi’s 2024 sold out shows which include LA’s Shrine Expo Hall, San Francisco’s Warfield, NY’s Radio City Music Hall and Boston’s MGM Music Hall. For 30 years, a small theatre in the heart of London – Camden People’s Theatre (CPT) has punched well above its weight, providing a vital platform for hundreds if not thousands of artists, dozens of whom have gone on to become major voices in the theatre and entertainment worlds in a list that includes Olivier nominees, West-End stars, internationally renowned theatre companies, and TV faces.

Initially operating on a shoestring, an article in the Ham&High newspaper appeared in March 1995, which heralded the founding of Camden People’s Theatre by “a group of idealistic young theatremakers taking over a former pub in Hampstead Road near Euston and put on politically engaged work with a community facing agenda”
