Wot? No Fish!! @ The Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank Centre) Review

Danny Braverman’s one man show, Wot? No Fish!! is one of the most thoroughly endearing pieces of theatre you’re likely to see this summer. It portrays the marriage of Braverman’s great aunt and uncle, Ab and Celie Solomons, which spanned from 1926 to 1982. Beyond the biographical content, the play provides a broader view of life in the Jewish community, as London passed through seismic, societal changes brought on by war, its aftermath and modernity itself.

Timber! @ The Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank Centre)

TIMBER!!! Watch out for the grand fir tree ready to collapse at any given moment! There’s nothing quite like the great outdoors, however during these winter months, we may all beg to differ. An arduous, yet rewarding lifestyle, picture spending your working day heavy lifting, carving and chopping wood in order to literally create a roof over your head as well as to make a living… I’d imagine many of us would prefer to visit our local well known branded store than to even consider the alternative. Cue Timber! a show that infuses a sense of fun and vitality to the lifestyle and profession.

The Tiger Lillies: Rime of the Ancient Mariner @ The Queen Elizabeth Hall Review

After winning the Olivier Award in 2002 for their show Shockheaded Peter, The Tiger Lillies have continued on with their alternative cabaret style, picking up a cult following as they’ve done so. Tackling Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s classic poem, The Tiger Lillies have teamed up with visual artist Mark Holthusen to bring the multimedia extravaganza that is Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
