Over 70,000 people flocked to London’s Trafalgar Square this weekend (Sat 22 & Sun 23 June) for West End LIVE, Europe’s biggest free theatre festival which has been hailed as ‘Glastonbury for theatre lovers’. Theatre fans travelled from all over the UK and even further afield for this unique and hotly anticipated event, presented on the Saturday by theatre stars Bradley Jaden and Mazz Murray, and on the Sunday by Cedric Neal and Zizi Strallen.

The weekend was packed with 11 hours of performances from an impressive line-up of over 50 of London’s top shows.

This October, the world’s biggest musical theatre fan convention, Musical Con, will return to London for the third year running, welcoming thousands of fans, of all ages, from across the country and abroad, to celebrate all things musicals under one roof.

Taking place on 19 and 20 October at ExCeL London, Musical Con is delighted to announce a stellar line-up of over 70 special guests including West End and Broadway stars Todrick Hall (Burlesque, Chicago, Kinky Boots), Layton Williams (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie/Billy Elliot), Lucie Jones (Wicked, Waitress, Les Misérables), Shanay Holmes (Get Up Stand Up, The Bodyguard), co-founder of Musical Con and soon to star as Nancy in Cameron Mackintosh’s revival of Oliver!, Stevie Doc and Tobias Turley (Mamma Mia!) who were recently crowned winners of ITV’s MAMMA MIA! I Have A Dream, and this year’s Guest of Honour Tony, Grammy and Emmy award winner André De Shields (Hadestown, The Wiz) who originated the role of Hermes in Hadestown on Broadway.

A packed line-up of 34 hit West End shows has been unveiled so far ahead of this year’s West End LIVE, a free and unticketed celebration of London’s world-leading theatre scene which comes to Trafalgar Square on the weekend of 25 and 26 June. More acts are due to be announced in the next few weeks, as London gears up for the biggest ever West End LIVE.

One of the world’s instantly recognisable musicals, Cameron Mackintosh’s Les Misérables returns with a UK and Ireland tour, starting off at the Glasgow Theatre Royal from Tuesday 23rd November and concluding at Wales Millenium Stadium Cardiff on Saturday 14th January 2023.
