In an unprecedented year whereby shows have moved online, Drew Colby‘s Mr Shadow welcomes audiences back into a performance space, a light hearted piece of theatre celebrating the ‘live’ aspect of the form.

Movingstage Theatre will be performing A Christmas Carol from Saturday 3rd December. How are rehearsals going for the show?
Rehearsals are going very well. We generally rehearse productions that have already been devised some time in the past and are part of our repertoire for a period of two weeks. This is now week two and we have three puppeteers working on this production.

On first glance, Richmond-On-Thames appears to be an unassuming, picturesque haven with characteristic riverboats gliding down the Thames, to friendly passers by casually strolling along the river bank. However, looks may appear deceiving as one river boat in particular transports its passengers to a completely different world altogether. As the Puppet Theatre Barge embarks on an adventure all of its own, audience members watch on as a 14th Century Arthurian legend plays out before their very eyes.
On entering the Puppet Barge, it felt as though you were crossing the threshold into an entirely different world. This feeling was sustained throughout the entire performance. The air of enchantment and excitement that surrounded the performance made it a great piece of theatre to be enjoyed by people of all ages.
