Gore Vidal’s The Best Man is an absorbing play looking at the issues of power and corruption that go hand in hand with anything connected to an American presidential race. It is full of fantastic, rich performances and so many twists and turns that we are kept utterly gripped.
A fun, energetic romp through a brilliant back catalogue of classic rock and roll numbers, from some multi-talented performers, with interesting facts about the era in a show that opens on a high and continues up there throughout.

There are a couple of stand-out performances and some impressive dance numbers in this touring production, which is good fun but ultimately a bit unsatisfying.

Camille’s return to Brighton is met with some real excitement. She’s performed here many times to rapturous reception, and nothing less would suffice for the ‘Queen’ of Edinburgh Fringe and someone of such serious talent. She’s often described as a cabaret performer, but her shows are more than cabaret, taking songs by artists such Nick Cave, Brel, Bowie, Tom Waites and transforming them, telling those stories in her own unique way.
